FBO (fixed-base operator).
An FBO, or fixed-base operator, is a business granted the right by an airport to provide aeronautical services on the airfield, such as fuelling, hangarage, parking, ground handling and passenger and crew facilities. Private jet passengers normally depart from and arrive at an FBO rather than the main airline terminal. The term originated in the United States.

What does FBO (fixed-base operator) mean in practice?
The FBO is where your private flight actually starts.
You arrive by car shortly before departure, are met in a small lounge, and are driven or walked to the aircraft. Security and passport checks still happen, but they are handled at the FBO rather than in a public queue. Many airports have more than one FBO. Your broker or operator chooses which, and the confirmation should give you its name and street address, since FBOs are often on the opposite side of the airfield from the passenger terminal. Costs at FBOs vary. Handling, parking and de-icing fees are usually passed through in your charter price or itemised afterwards. FBO does not mean the same thing as operator: an FBO services aircraft on the ground and does not fly you anywhere. Some FBOs also run charter operations under a separate certificate.
