What does Wyvern Wingman mean in practice?

Wingman certification works much like an ARGUS rating: the operator pays for an audit by accredited safety auditors, and if it passes, brokers and customers can see it in WYVERN's public directory.

The standard emphasises the operator's safety management system, meaning the processes it uses to identify and manage risk, rather than only checking paperwork. Wingman PRO indicates the operator has kept up ongoing coaching and monitoring rather than a one-off audit. WYVERN also offers a Wingman designation for brokers, which is separate from, and no substitute for, operator certification. For a first-time customer the useful checks are simple: confirm the operator is listed in the Wingman or Wingman PRO directory today, and ask whether the specific aircraft and crew meet the standard for this trip. Certification is voluntary and many safe operators hold ARGUS instead, or neither, so treat it as one input rather than a pass or fail test.
