What is a super-midsize jet like in practice?
Wide cabins that can cross the Atlantic. The sweet spot between comfort and cost for long flights.
Super-midsize empty legs often appear when an aircraft repositions between the Gulf and Europe or across the Atlantic. They are the best value way to fly six or more hours privately.
Best for: Transatlantic-capable sectors, Middle East to Europe non-stop, and groups of eight to ten who want a wide cabin.

Questions about super-midsize jets
Can a super-midsize jet fly London to New York?
Westbound against the wind it is marginal on most types and often needs a stop in Ireland or Newfoundland. Eastbound New York to London is usually non-stop.
Is there a cabin attendant?
Not by default. Many operators can add a cabin attendant for a fee; on flights over four hours it is worth asking.
What is the baggage allowance?
Generous. Most types take ten cases plus soft bags in an external hold, and there is usually room for skis or golf bags.
Do you pay per seat or for the whole aircraft?
Almost always the whole aircraft. An empty leg on an eight-seat jet costs the same for one passenger or eight, which is why empty legs work best for groups. A few operators and apps sell single seats on selected flights; where that applies, the listing says so.
