What is a ultra-long-range jet like in practice?
The flagships. Non-stop from London to Los Angeles, Singapore or Cape Town with a bedroom on board.
Ultra-long-range empty legs are rare but spectacular. They appear when an aircraft delivers a client to one continent and needs to return to base on another. If your schedule can flex, they are the best value in aviation.
Best for: Non-stop between London, the Gulf, Asia and the US west coast, or anyone who wants a stateroom for an overnight flight.

Questions about ultra-long-range jets
How long can an ultra-long-range jet fly?
Fourteen to seventeen hours depending on the type. Dubai to New York, London to Los Angeles and Geneva to Singapore are all non-stop.
Is there a shower on board?
Some Global 7500 and G700 cabins have a shower. Most do not, but every aircraft in this category has a full-height lavatory and a private stateroom.
Why are these empty legs so rare?
Operators often sell the return sector before the outbound flight leaves. When one does slip through, it is usually released a day or two before departure, which is where alerts help.
Do you pay per seat or for the whole aircraft?
Almost always the whole aircraft. An empty leg on an eight-seat jet costs the same for one passenger or eight, which is why empty legs work best for groups. A few operators and apps sell single seats on selected flights; where that applies, the listing says so.
